Stop fraud before it happens with intaguard

intabill has one of the most practical approaches to fraud protection of any online processing company. From a business perspective, intabill focuses on fraud prevention, rather than fraud reconciliation. Unlike other online payment processing companies, intabill has leading proprietary software, specialized transaction processing teams, investigations departments and stringent identity screening processes. This specialist fraud and security service is called intaguard.

By incorporating a 24/7 customer service center to deal with around the clock customer and merchant enquiries, any suspicious behavior is flagged immediately. The center of the intabill fraud-protection system lies within the security and investigations divisions. With a 24/7 security department, intabill monitors the validity of each transaction that passed through its interface.

Once the security department has identified potentially fraudulent activity, the suspected perpetrator has their account frozen and is prohibited from making deposits until the issue has been resolved. The anti-fraud mechanisms implemented by intabill include, but are not limited to the following:

IDology - IDology is a third party company that works in conjunction with intabill to track the identity of US players. By drawing on its extensive database of information, IDology can amass a list of questions unique to every US citizen. When a customer signs up for an intabill account, they are posed with three IDology questions that they must complete correctly to confirm their identity. If the customer answers any of these incorrectly, their account is immediately suspended and they must contact the 24/7 customer service team to resolve the issue.

Phone verification - This is the next verification step after the IDology verification stage. An automated call is sent to the number the new customer entered into the 'home phone' field of their user details. The call provides the customer with a four digit code which they are then to enter into the verification field in their account. Once they have done this, their location and valid number have been verified.

CVV - intabill requires CVV verification for all transactions.

Micro-Charge - Before a customer adds a new payment source, they must authorize intabill to issue a random charge to their bank or credit account. This is called a micro-charge and is always between $1 and $2. Once the charge has been sent, the customer must retrieve their bank statement and enter the amount for verification. This exercise is extremely important as a fraud prevention method as it verifies that the customer using the credit card/bank account is also the recipient of the statements, indicating that the payment source is not counterfeit or stolen.

Scrubs - If a customer's transaction is denied for any reason, their account is sent to the security department where they perform a full identity and transaction history scrub. During this process the security department checks over all details, including phone verification, IP address matching, Google map imaging for IP address/location correlation, white page 411.com checks and more. They also undertake identity searches using the Melissa database to confirm their location and previous history. From here, the security team investigates possible chargeback history, credit card BIN numbers, country to IP correlations and monitors their transaction history for inconsistencies.

Internal Investigations - If any of the scrubs are not passed, or a transaction is suspected to be fraudulent, the investigations department is notified and a more complete scrub/investigation is conducted. The investigations department has numerous tools and procedures at their disposal for investigating issues of fraud or illegal activity and is instructed to follow all leads until any unlawful practices have been exposed and a conclusion has been reached.
